When is the last time you forgot about a great song?

It happens to us all the time!  Luckily, as wedding DJs, we organize our music in ways that allow us to quickly sort and access our library so that we always have access to the music we need most, just at the right time.  But as you think about the music for your wedding, with a million other things on your mind, it might be easy to forget who sings that great song you heard on the radio the other day (it was probably Echosmith – Cool Kids, just guessing…).

There is a great, free solution that can help called Shazam.

You may already be a Shazam power-user, but if not, we hope this is a tool that helps you in thinking about your music planning.  Shazam is an app that you can download for your iPhone or Android phone, and it will both help you identify and remember the songs that you’re trying to remember.  If you’re in a coffee shop and a great tune comes on, but you don’t know who sings it… no problem, fire up Shazam.  The app will listen to the song for a few seconds, and most of the time, knows the song right away.  Or, maybe you know the song you’re listening to, but worried you’ll forget about it.  Shazam songs you already know to have them remembered in your history.

Despite how much music we know and love, we use this tool constantly.  Just like you, we might be reminded of a great song that we haven’t heard in a long time.  Or, we might be discovering brand new music ourselves.  So often we meet with our couples to discuss their weddings and the name of a song they love escapes them at the time.    Simple tools can help you discover and remember so that your wedding is full of music that you absolutely love!
