What is the DJ really doing behind their console?

For decades mobile and wedding DJs have been relying on a fairly common piece of equipment called a “rack” to hold all of their performance gear.  I’m sure you’ve seen these.  It basically looks like the DJ is standing at a podium that has all of their equipment inside.

When we designed the Bela Sono Music system, we wanted to do things differently.  Instead of a big wooden box that obscures what we do as DJs, we designed our system so that you could see us mixing live, right in front of your guests:

This is a subtle, but totally different experience…

One of our core values is to not make ourselves the center of attention.  But, we do believe in truly DJing for our wedding couples.  We aren’t using pre-mixed sets and routines.  We aren’t just pressing play.  All night long, we are reading your crowd, mixing and blending our way through the most fun dance floor that you’ve ever been a part of.

We hope you’ll agree that our set up is clean and elegant.  Every possible wire that can be tucked away is being hidden from view.  But hiding wires, and hiding what we do as DJs are a very different thing.

Part of doing it this way is selfish on our part…  Without a big barrier between us and your dance floor, we feel more a part of the party.  There is nothing standing between us and the energy that you and your guests have.  You’re also getting all of the energy that we have as DJs.  It is very subtle, but that connection that we have with our guests does make a difference.
