This could not have been more of a fun celebration! While rain threatened to keep us indoors during the ceremony, we got just enough of a break to keep things outdoors on the gorgeous Big Spring Farm property. From the first moment of this ceremony, to the final moment of the last dance of the night – love was in the air.

It’s a unique privilege to be a part of the team of vendors responsible for making sure one of the most memorable days of a couples’ lives comes together in the way they envisioned it. And I’m certain that no couple was hoping to celebrate in the midst of a global pandemic. From dark days for our industry and the couples we serve, a group of vendors got together and decided to make a difference.
Lisa Havard of Havard Events invited us to participate in the Love Gone Viral wedding, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. She was part of an all-star cast of vendors that created a magical day for a truly deserving couple. Here is a quick peek at that celebration:
When you think about iconic DC weddings, a number of things come to mind. Grand architecture, incredible views, history, and a sophisticated design. This wedding had all of that and more! Designed by the incredible Julie Park and Kristina Garcia of Birch Event and Design – this wedding had all of the elements that make a DC wedding so special.

Stephanie and Ryan planned a gorgeous wedding from Boston at DC’s iconic Mayflower Hotel. With guests truly traveling the world to attend their wedding, it was important to blend a combination of American music with Cambodian music for Stephanie’s family.
Enjoying a nightlife vibe, Stephanie and Ryan were looking for a DJ that could keep a high energy style for their dance floor. The party went all the way to 1am as the crowd danced to favorite tracks from Calvin Harris, Drake, and more.

Bela Sono was thrilled to provide wedding DJ and lighting services for Ryan and Sinead’s wedding at the Bluemont Vineyard in Bluemont, Virginia. While many venues in Loudoun county offer great views, Bluemont Winery really has an exceptional landscape. It was the perfect setting for Ryan and Sinead to bring their families together for an amazing celebration.
Ryan and Sinead’s ceremony was off-site, so the Bela Sono team got started with cocktail hour which was hosted outside on the patio overlooking the Virginia countryside. We used our wireless Bose speakers to provide a consistent sound experience from inside to outside. And also to make sure that guests were able to hear announcements as needed before the formal reception began. Indoors we used additional Bose speakers to to completely cover the unusual shape of the Bluemont Winery ballroom so that guests in the back would be able to hear the blessings and toasts without any issues.
Sinead’s family is Irish, and wanted to provide a surprise for the bride and groom. They contacted Bela Sono prior to the reception to coordinate for the maximum impact, but to not be disruptive to the rest of the timeline that was being developed. The family ended up bringing in four dancers from the Boyle School or Irish Dance that presented a three song performance that absolutely wowed the crowd. You can see a short clip of the dancers in our highlights video on YouTube. Ryan and Sinead were totally surprised by the performance, and absolutely loved it!
This crowd really loved to dance. From Motown to Top 40, they were a wedding DJ’s dream and got down to all of it. The Irish tunes that we also sprinkled in were huge hits, and were clearly appreciated by the family that had travelled a very long way to join the fun.

As wedding season for 2017 starts to wind down, we finally get to reflect on some of the wonderful weddings that we have gotten to be a part of this year and share them. It was our first visit to the Stoneleigh Golf Club in Round Hill, Virginia, but I’m sure it won’t be our last.
Sarah and Brad were a dream couple for us to work with, and their wedding was an absolute blast! Their guests responded to everything from oldies to the hottest song of the fall (Despacito, of course). And some of the throwbacks like Sandstorm got a huge reaction. All in all, it was a truly spectacular night, and we couldn’t have had more fun with this group!
We were thrilled to work with the team from Lauren Louise Photography for this wedding, and we love that we can share some of the wonderful photos from their event with you!

When it comes to wedding venues, very few hold a candle to Stone Tower Winery. The wedding team at Stone Tower is experienced, thoughtful, and all around does a great job taking care of guests. And the sweeping views of Loudoun County wine country don’t hurt a bit. This was the setting for Matt and Maggie’s celebration.
Stunning design from Plan to be Tied accented the rustic charm of Stone Tower. Simple greens along the table scape were elegant, but not overwhelming. And who doesn’t love a groom with an orange accent? Perhaps most of all, we loved that this group wanted to party! DJ Ryan Brooks took them on a journey through the decades to keep dancers of every generation on the floor having a great time together.
The Bela Sono team provided prelude music and microphones for the ceremony, music for cocktail hour on the patio, and an unforgettable night of dancing at the reception. We know you’ll love taking a look at Kathryn Ivy Photography’s work as much as we have:
We kicked off the Spring of 2017 wedding season by celebrating with Rebecca and Brian at The Sunset Room in National Harbor, Maryland. Rated one of the top wedding venues for foodies, The Sunset Room offers an incredibly unique view of the Potomac River, with a backdrop of whimsical highlights from the ferris wheel and neon adorned restaurants of National Harbor.

Rebecca and Brian met the Bela Sono team at a Bridal Show, and it was clear early on that we’d be a good fit for their wedding. They wanted an elegant look and feel to the room, but a party that didn’t hold back. These are the types of weddings we absolutely love to DJ and design.
The featured colors for their wedding were gold and navy, which allowed us to have a lot of fun with the lighting design. We discussed a play on the “Sunset” concept, paying homage to the very space we were in. As guests entered the room and enjoyed their meals, we added warmth with a gorgeous gold uplighting tone. Then, shortly before dancing, we started to fade the lighting colors. From gold, into orange, then red, purple, and finally into a deep blue. We created our own sunset inside the room.
Aside from looking very cool, the lighting change served a functional purpose. A change in the atmosphere alerts guests that something is about to happen. That something was opening the dance floor. When the whole environment changes, the mood, the energy – all of it prepares guests and primes them for the celebration to come. And boy, did this group dance!
