DJ Ryan Brooks took the lead on creating the elegant but fun Big Spring Farm wedding that we love to revisit through these photos.

With more than a decade of performing weddings in the Washington DC metro area, we are familiar with most of the popular wedding venues that our couples generally consider. However, this was our first trip to Murray Hill Estates, and it was such a treat to be introduced. Just minutes from major shopping and thoroughfares, Murray Hill offers a picturesque step back in time for a beautiful Leesburg wedding.

Every wedding we do is special. But when long-time friends ask us to be part of their weddings, it adds to the joy we have in getting to DJ. Check out this gallery recap of Brian and Elisa’s wedding at the Historic Rosemont Manor. Bela Sono Music DJ Ross Anderson provided microphones and sound support for the ceremony, as well as DJ & MC for the reception.
We first met Mika and Cole with a referral from the fabulous wedding planner Vanessa Young of Little Black Book. We’re always so honored with any referral, but it turns out that Vanessa and Mika are friends, and that Vanessa would get to enjoy this wedding as a guest. Love it!
The River Bend Golf Club team were fabulous hosts for the evening, and the club is absolutely beautiful. I particularly loved that the dance floor is slightly separate from the dining area. It means that our wireless Bose speakers come in handy – but provides a great guest experience.
But most of all, we love getting to relive some of the great moments of this wedding through the beautiful gallery of Melissa Nyman Photography’s work!
We are so happy to get to take another look at this Lexington, Virginia wedding at Big Spring Farm. The photos from Belen Isabel Photography are absolutely breathtaking. Nick and Jessica’s vendor team was so much fun to work with, and we can’t wait to see this team again!

This wedding is everything we love. Every generation was together on the dance floor. The uplighting was elegant during dinner and fun during dancing. And this group danced ALL NIGHT. A wedding DJs dream!
As a wedding DJ company in Fairfax, VA, you wouldn’t expect to find us in Lexington (about 3 hours away) very often. But, it happens to be one of our favorite spots to visit. Big Spring Farm is owned by Buddy and Jill Powers. Buddy and I (Ross) went high school and college together, both drummers. And at the time, I was DJing events of all types. I would have never expected that my path with Buddy would cross again in the way it has, with both of us absolutely committed to helping couples create the perfect celebration of their marriages.
This was one of those weddings…
The problem comes from simple physics. The most common DJ sound system is a set up of two speakers on stands. From two speakers, the DJ will try to cover the whole room so that guests can hear everything from dinner music and toasts to dancing. But, with a two speaker system there is an inevitable result… One part of the room will be much louder than the rest.
Let’s take a look at how we handle this by walking through a recent wedding that we did at the Lodge at Little Seneca Creek in Boyds, Maryland:

For decades mobile and wedding DJs have been relying on a fairly common piece of equipment called a “rack” to hold all of their performance gear. I’m sure you’ve seen these. It basically looks like the DJ is standing at a podium that has all of their equipment inside.
When we designed the Bela Sono Music system, we wanted to do things differently. Instead of a big wooden box that obscures what we do as DJs, we designed our system so that you could see us mixing live, right in front of your guests:
